Local Congressman Devin Nunes, who is also the Chairman on the House Intelligence Committee, continues to take a stand on the alleged FBI surveillance abuses. Nunes claims, he’s standing up for the truth. On Monday, he sat down with us for a one-on-one interview.

Before President Donald Trump took office, Nunes was best known locally for his fight to bring water to the Central Valley. But now, he’s know for a declassified memo that claims the FBI abused its power and spied on Trump’s campaign leading up to the 2016 election.

“As we keep peeling back the onion, it gets worst and worst, in terms of the abuses that occurred at the Department of Fustice and the FBI. And I’m in a position where those problems have to be told to the American people,” stated Nunes.

Nunes said there is corruption in Washington that must be exposed. He’s been critical of the use of what he calls partisan campaign research to obtain a surveillance warrant against a member of the Trump campaign team.

He said, “The fact that they used political dirt paid for the by the Hillary campaign and by the Democratic Party to open up a counter intelligence investigation into the other campaign is a big problem. It is a major scandal.”

Nunes said the mainstream media doesn’t help with getting his message out. He believes 90-percent of the media is part of the Democratic Party.

“The fact that I’m getting attacked, tells me that I’m right over target,” ended Nunes.

The Congressman said he supports Trump’s push for a wall across the US-Mexican border, and believes the President’s immigration plan is a fair deal.
