Decades-old baby photo prompts one Oakhurst woman to start searching for the owner

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but what if the photo is decades old and you don’t know anything about it?

That’s what has happened with one particular photo found in Oakhurst, a found photo is now prompting a woman to try and put a name to the face.

It all started here in the Oakhurst community off Road 423. When the photo of a baby was found on the side of the road.

The woman who found it is taking to social media to get the face out there, asking for the public’s help.

Andrea Landes, a mail carrier in Oakhurst, was driving during her typical day at work down Road 423, near Wortham.

She said, “I was coming up to my next curb side and as I drove through this area here.”

That’s when Landes spotted something out of the ordinary on her route.

“I saw this picture face open in the tall grass and it caught my eye so I delivered and turned around and came back.”

That picture is a black and white photo of a baby, the name barely visible.

She said it was laying upside down, open, on the side of the road, “I tried to read the name but couldn’t read the name on it, it was too faded.”

Landes said she sees a lot while on her route but when she saw this vintage gem, she knew it was special.

“I felt right away it wasn’t garbage, it wasn’t supposed to be here.”

She said the age-old photo is part of someone’s history, a reason why she’s now determined to return it to its rightful owner.

“I took it home and posted it on Oakhurst Area, on Facebook, in hopes to find somebody who recognizes this beautiful baby,” Landes said.

She said she is not sure if it was someone moving or from a resident who was evacuated during the Ferguson Fire.

We went around asking if anyone recognized the baby in the photo, unfortunately, no one did.

For now the mystery of the name and face of a happy baby goes unknown.

“Somebody loved this baby very much and somebody is missing this picture.”

If anyone recognizes the baby in the photo or know who it belongs to, you can message Andrea Landes on Facebook,
