Vintage 1942 Harley-Davidson stolen from a Tulare home, deputies say

A vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stolen on Christmas Eve from a Tulare home, deputies say.

Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home regarding a burglary on Dec. 24.

During the investigation, they learned someone walked onto the property and took a vintage 1942 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Detectives learned the motorcycle was at a home in the 3100 block of Meadow Avenue in Visalia.

On Jan. 4, detectives served a search warrant at the home, where they found the stolen motorcycle in the backyard.

A gun, ammunition, a stolen license plate and methamphetamine were also found at the home, deputies say.

Thirty-three-year-old Richard Griffith of Visalia was contacted at the home and taken into custody on suspicion of theft of a motorcycle, possession of a stolen motorcycle, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of ammunition.

Deputies say Griffith was already on probation for burglary and had a previous arrest for a reported stolen vehicle investigation.

He was booked into the Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
