Teen stabbed near Highway 99 in Fresno. He’s in critical condition, police say

A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being stabbed near Parkway Drive in Fresno Friday night.

At around 7:50 p.m., Fresno Police responded to a report of a stabbing at Belmont Avenue and Highway 99, says Lt. Bill Dooley.

He says the teen and other juveniles were walking to a nearby Sinclair gas station, something they normally do because they live nearby.

A male, late teens or early 20s, began arguing with the teens, and he stabbed the 16-year-old, Dooley says.

He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

The suspect took off in a car with other individuals, Dooley says. He is described as having long hair in a ponytail, neck tattoos and wearing cargo pants.

The suspect vehicle is a van, light in color, possibly silver. He fled on Highway 99 northbound, and California Highway Patrol and Madera law enforcement have been asked to be on the lookout.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Fresno PD at 559-621-7000.
