Teen filming a music video had a stolen gun, say police

FRESNO, California – A 16-year-old has been arrested in Fresno after police said he appeared to be filming a music video while handling a stolen firearm.

On Tuesday, officers responded to the area of College Avenue and Franklin Avenue after a 911 call about a group drinking alcohol and making gang signs. The witness also reported that one of them was waving a gun.

Officers said they arrived to find a 16-year-old who matched the caller’s description, and that there was a gun magazine in his pocket with twelve rounds inside as well as a handgun in his pants. The handgun was reported stolen out of Cathedral City in 2014.

The 16-year-old has not been officially identified. He was arrested on several firearms-related charges and booked into Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center.
