Suspected gaming console thief arrested, police say

On Thursday afternoon, Edwin Sanchez (26) was arrested on robbery and assault with a deadly weapon charges, Visalia Police say.

Police say Sanchez attempted to leave the Best Buy in Visalia with a gaming console. An employee tried to stop Sanchez, but after a brief altercation Sanchez was able to flee with the gaming system, police say.

Police say a witness followed the suspects’ vehicle and began filming Sanchez with a cellphone.  Sanchez noticed he was being filmed and intentionally rammed the witness’ vehicle twice, police say. Police say Sanchez’s vehicle suffered damage from the collision and had pull over near Caldwell and Demaree.  Police say Sanchez was taken into custody and booked into jail.

Police say the witness suffered minor cuts from the collision.
