A man walked into Community Regional Medical Center Saturday afternoon and was immediately taken to the trauma unit after a stabbing.
He was dropped off at the hospital around 5 p.m. by family, says Fresno Police Lt. Bill Dooley.
Police believe the man in his 40s was getting into his car near a taqueria on Fresno Street and Madison Avenue when he was approached by the suspect.
“The suspect demanded that the victim give him his phone and then began striking him when the victim refused. The victim realized that he had been cut in the head by an unknown sharp object being held by the suspect. The victim stated that the suspect stole his phone and the guitar in his car,” Dooley explained.
He’s going to be OK.
The suspect fled the area. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Fresno PD at 559-621-7000.
