Fresno Police are searching for clues about what led up to six-year-old being wounded at a birthday party Saturday.
At around 5:30 p.m., a 911 call came in from the area of Brown and Glenn avenues for reports of a child being stabbed. Officers located the victim and transported her to Community Regional Medical Center where she’s expected to be OK, says Lt. Bill Dooley.
She received a wound under her eye after a 35-year-old suspect reportedly got upset with her and struck her with an unknown weapon. “The suspect was holding a sharp object in between her fingers, believe to be a razor blade or something similar,” he explained.
Nearly 2 hours later, Dooley confirmed the suspect was caught. Her name is Crystal Parra, and she lives at the home where the incident happened.
Dooley says the child’s parents are both deceased, so it’s unknown who cares for her, or who she was with at the party.
The guests at the party are not very cooperative with the investigation, he adds.
