Stabbing follows an argument, witnesses tell Fresno PD


FRESNO, California – A woman is in the hospital following a stabbing in Fresno Monday night.

The call came in before 9 p.m., sending officers to an alley near Holt and Fairmont Avenues.

Police say a woman in her 20s was found with a single stab wound in her upper torso. He injury is not considered life-threatening.

“At this point we have detained one subject, he’s a male subject, he’s not been positively identified yet, but he has been detained at this point for further investigation on this case,” said Lt. Larry Bowlan.

“Officers have canvassed the area for additional witnesses, any video surveillance, and the possible weapon which has not been located.”

Witnesses described a man and woman arguing before the call came out. Detectives have begun canvassing the area to figure out what happened.
