Police: Man refuses to admit he’s a shooting victim after gunfire erupts near downtown Fresno

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Police investigated a shooting near downtown Friday night.

A victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center after being shot in the 300 block of E Street around 7:15 p.m. Police say they got reports of occupants of two cars shooting at each other.

When officers arrived, both vehicles were gone, however evidence of the shooting was found at the scene including shell casings and an uninvolved vehicle that was struck by bullets.

Soon after, officers were told a shooting victim arrived at the hospital. He’s uncooperative, police say, and refuses to give his name or admit he’s a victim of a shooting.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Fresno PD at 559-621-7000.
