Fresno Police confirmed two people were shot Saturday night in southeast Fresno.
It happened in the 400 block of North Orchard Street, near Belmont Avenue and First Street just after 10 p.m.
Lt. Larry Bowlan with the Fresno Police Department says officers were responding to the area when they got a call of a traffic collision. They learned a victim was on the way to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body.
Bowlan says that victim is in surgery, in critical condition at Community Regional Medical Center.
The second victim arrived to the hospital, and Bowlan says hes in critical, but stable condition.
Multiple shell casings were found, but witnesses have not been coming forward.
It is unknown if the two victims, both in their late teens or early 20s, know each other, but Bowlan says they were possibly at a gathering in the area the shooting was reported.
