An alleged child molester was caught by Tulare County deputies after more than a year of being on the run, the sheriff’s office announced Friday.

In December of 2016, deputies responded to the Tule River Reservation for reports of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14.

A $250K warrant was issued for 40-year-old Buddy Joe Sabedra of Porterville about a year after the investigation began.

On April 26, an investigation into Sabedra found he was possibly in the San Diego area, where he was ultimately located. He was booked into the San Diego County Jail and will be taken back to Tulare County.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted fugitives is encouraged to call Sgt. Steve Sanchez at 559-733-6218.
