A Fresno man was arrested for reportedly robbing several check cashing businesses.

The last robbery took place on Sept. 27.

That’s when Lemoore police say Dameond Keshon Young, 38, walked into the business located in the 800 block of North Lemoore Avenue just after noon.

He then waited for other customers to leave, approached the clerk with a handgun and told her she was being robbed for an undisclosed amount of money.

She handed over the money and Young left, police say.

Detectives learned through an investigation that similar robberies had occurred in Reedley and Corcoran. They began reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with several sources to try and identify a suspect in the robberies.

Officers located the suspect vehicle and learned it belonged to Young.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was later booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of an armed robbery. He is also being held on a parole violation.

His bail is set at $720,000.
