Porterville homicide victim’s cause of death was suffocation

An autopsy report indicated that the Porterville woman who the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said was killed by her husband died from suffocation.

Samantha Lopez, 31, was found dead Tuesday. Her husband, Victor Lopez, was arrested in her death.

Deputies found her body in her home during a welfare check.

Samantha is a mother of four. Family members say her children are ages 12 and under. Her youngest is a 2-year-old boy. Investigators say domestic violence led to the her murder.
