Police: Hit-and-run driver attempts to flee crash, causes another crash

VISALIA, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A hit-and-run driver who was allegedly fleeing from a crash caused another crash nearby, says Visalia Police.

Just after noon, officers responded to the 3000 block of south West Street for a report of a car that crashed into a fence.

Martin Rosales, 36, is accused of losing control of his Ford Mustang and side swiping a Toyota Prius, also going northbound, before he hit the fence.

Police say Rosales was passing the Prius attempting to flee from a previous crash where he reportedly rear-ended another car.

Speed and DUI are suspected to be factors in the crash, police say.
