The Porterville Police Department is investigating a murder of a 43-year-old man, who is believed to have been killed by his cousin.

Authorities say the murder happened Wednesday morning in the 400 block of West Date Avenue, where Porterville resident Christopher Campos was found unconscious and not breathing.

Officers and medical personnel arrived on scene and located Campos who had visible trauma wounds to several parts of his body, and was pronounced deceased.

Porterville Police Department Detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.

Detectives served a search warrant at the residence and interviewed several family members, including the victim’s cousin, 44-year-old Andrew Campos.

Evidence led to Andrew Campos being arrested and charged with his cousin’s murder, the department announced. He was booked into the custody of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and is being held without bail.
