FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – One person was arrested in the armed robbery of two people, including a mother with her baby, at the River Park Shopping Center on Sunday, Fresno police say.

Christopher Kollenkark, 21, of Fresno, turned himself in to police Tuesday after a detective was able to identify him through surveillance footage, Lt. Mark Hudson said. The suspected getaway vehicle was found abandoned in northwest Fresno by officers.

Kollenkark was interviewed by police and booked into the Fresno County Jail for one count of robbery, Hudson said.

Another suspect was questioned but was cleared, police said Friday.

The robbery occurred Sunday afternoon, around 1:15 p.m., after two women finished shopping at Buy Buy Baby and were loading a three-week-old baby into their vehicle, Hudson said. The suspects approached them while armed with handguns.

One of the victims handed over her purse after the suspects demanded it, Hudson said. The suspects then ran and got into a nearby getaway vehicle.
