FRESNO COUNTY, California – Surveillance video was released by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office showing a masked man wielding a knife at a motel employee, seemingly demanding money.
Juan Pinones-Salazar of Coalinga is accussed of robbing a Motel 6 employee in Coalinga around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies were called to the scene as he was allegedly running away from the scene. They eventually caught up to him at a nearby Arco gas station, the sheriff’s office says.
That’s where he reportedly began to fight with deputies before being taken into custody. He’s now at Fresno County Jail and his bail is set at $122,500.
Deputies found the knife that was used in the robbery, along with the stolen money.
Pinones-Salazar was the primary suspect from two robberies on July 15 and 17 at a 76 gas station. He’s also believed to be responsible for an attempted robbery of a customer on July 23 in the parking lot of a Coalinga Best Western.
