FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who was shot to death in central Fresno on Thursday was identified.
Fresno Police identified Ricky Brogdon, 30, who was killed at 2:53 a.m. in the area of Nevada Avenue and Orchard Street. Homicide investigators say that Daniel Grado, 18, was responsible for fatally shooting Brogdon.
The shooting stemmed from a dispute over a female acquaintance, police say. Grado was a former neighbor and knew the victim.
Grado and Anthony Amezcua, 22, were stopped in a vehicle by the California Highway Patrol along Highway 180 in central Fresno minutes after the homicide occurred. Officers found a rifle in the car that is believed to be the murder weapon.
Amezcua is facing murder charges and was booked into the Fresno County Jail, police say. Amezcua and Grado were also charged for being a part of an on-going series of robberies.
