Man killed at central Fresno Motel 6 identified

The man who was shot and killed on Sunday morning at the Motel 6 on Blackstone Avenue has been identified, the Fresno Police Department said.

At 4:02 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Motel 6 located at 4080 N. Blackstone Ave. regarding a Shotspotter activation involving multiple rounds of gunfire.

Officers arrived and located Justin Garza, 23, inside of a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot.

Garza was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

American Ambulance arrived immediately following the shooting and attempted to provide medical aid, but Garza died at the scene.
