Man found dead inside a car with a gunshot wound, Fresno Police say

A 39-year-old man was shot and killed just after midnight on Sunday in Fresno.

Fresno Police responded to the area of Clinton and Valentine avenues for reports of a shooting victim inside a parked car.

Gerald Wharry was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body, and was pronounced deceased at the scene, Fresno Police confirm.

A motive for the shooting has not been released by the Fresno Police Department, but it is said the shooting stemmed from an altercation earlier in the day, and it is an isolated incident.
