Authorities arrested a man suspected in a Merced homicide that occurred Friday, the Merced Police Department said Monday.
The Police Department arrested James Martin, 28.
The homicide happened at 470 Tucolay Court.
Acting on information obtained during the investigation, detectives were looking for Martin in the Vallejo and Oakland areas.
He was located in the Oakland area.
Martin was a passenger in a vehicle that Oakland Police Department attempted to make a vehicle stop on, the Merced Police Department said. A vehicle pursuit occurred and Martin was ultimately taken into custody by Oakland Police Department.
He was later brought back to Merced where he was booked on homicide charges.
Martin is a transient, the Police Department said.
