Police in Corcoran arrested a man who they say offered a child alcohol and asked for sex on Saturday.
Around 9:30 p.m., a parent reported their child was walking near the Corcoran High
School when they were approached by a man who offered them whiskey and asked the child for sex, the Police Department said.
The man grabbed the juvenile’s hand and held onto it for a prolonged period of time, and he reportedly pulled the child toward him, police said.
Based on the description of the suspect provided by the victim, the suspect was located at a bus stop in front of Cost Less Foods.
He was identified as Seferino Arjona Rodarte, 73, of Hollister.
A records check showed Rodarte had an outstanding warrant from the Department of Corrections, and he is a convicted sex offender who is out of compliance with his mandated registration, the Police Department said.
Rodarte was arrested on charges of annoying/molesting a minor and for the outstanding arrest warrant, police said. He was booked into the Kings County Jail where he is being held without bail due to the warrant.
