Madera woman not arrested for allegedly leaving baby home alone, charges being filed

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office confirms the 29-year-old woman who reportedly went missing on Valentine’s Day, leaving her baby home alone, has not been arrested.

However, child endangerment charges are being filed against Yesenia Toledo, the sheriff’s office says.

Investigators say Toledo left her four-month-child home alone when her boyfriend and older child were gone. When her boyfriend got back to their shared residence, he found the baby alone.

Toledo was found “alive and well” late Friday night at a home in the City of Madera.

Subsequently, detectives served a search warrant at their residence, and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Jamie Garcia was arrested and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections on suspicion of possession of a stolen handgun and felon in possession of a firearm.
