Granville’s ‘Home of Hope’ burglarized just a week after local family wins it

Crime

Just a week after a local family won Granville’s “Home of Hope,” it was burglarized of most of its appliances and furnishings.

Fresno Police confirmed the burglary Wednesday, saying there’s about $20,000 worth of stolen items. There’s no word on the cost of the home’s damage.

The burglars were allegedly at the home just before 6 a.m. Wednesday in a white Dodge SUV and/or truck. They took off when someone saw them.

Police say it must’ve taken several hours to remove all of the belongings from the home.

The home, located in the area of Clinton and Fowler avenues, raised $600K this year, with 6,000 tickets sold. The proceeds raised all go toward nine local beneficiaries.

Granville Homes President Darius Assemi says he’s offering $1,000 to the person who can provide information leading to the arrest of those involved.

He says the Kardashian family who won the home, is “disappointed” to learn of the home’s fate. They were planning on moving into the home in just a few weeks.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Fresno Police Department at 559-621-6311 or Granville Homes at 559-492-4049.

There is also a Crime Stoppers reward.
