Fresno’s “best dressed burglar” was arrested after several months of being investigated after at least five burglaries.

It all started in September of 2018 when a Fresno Police Department detective was receiving reports of car and home burglaries by a suspect wearing a button up shirt and dress pants.

He was caught on video reportedly stealing items in garages and cars, in different cities such as Fresno, Clovis, Reedley and possibly Visalia.

On May 22, he was identified through a Crime Stoppers tip. He is Abel Diaz, 46, of Visalia.

His parole agent provided a description of Diaz’ van that matched the suspect van in the video and believed he was possibly the suspect in the burglary videos.

A parole search of Diaz’ residence resulted in numerous items believed to be stolen property taken in the burglaries.
