FRESNO, California – A suspect was arrested in two armed robberies and one attempted robbery of 7-Eleven stores in the Fresno area, the Fresno Police Department announced Friday.
The suspect was identified as Nicole Johnson, 36, of Fresno.
The robberies occurred from July 21 through July 23.
Police say Johnson posed as a shopper. Once she got to the counter with merchandise, she brandished what was determined to be a small-caliber handgun as she demanded money from the register.
Detectives from the Street Violence Bureau used surveillance footage and Crime Stoppers information to identify and locate Johnson.
Johnson was taken into custody in the area of Weber and Shields avenues. Police say she was in possession of loaded .25-caliber handgun and evidence related to the robberies.
Police said she has an extensive criminal history, including a prior conviction for robbery.
Johhson was booked into the Fresno County Jail on two counts of commercial robbery, one attempt commercial robbery, and firearm violations.
