Fresno Police search for man with ‘history of fighting officers,’ neighborhood goes on lock down

A central Fresno neighborhood was on lock down Sunday after a wanted felon escaped officers while attempting to serve an arrest warrant.

A neighborhood in the area of Clark Street and Buckingham Way was on lock down around 5 p.m. as officers searched yards for the suspect, according to Lt. Bill Dooley with the Fresno Police Department.

He says the suspect has “a history of fighting officers,” which is why Dooley says officers took their time in searching to keep themselves, and the public safe.

A short time later, he was found in a detached structure in the back of a home and was taken into custody.

Dooley says the suspect is a gang member, and was wanted for weeks for making credible threats toward another person, among other alleged charges.
