Fresno man steals chainsaw by stuffing it in his pants

The owner of RG Equipment of Fresno is asking for the public’s help to find the man who stole a chainsaw Wednesday by shoving it down his pants.

The crook and his partner then drove away in a Dodge Ram pickup.

Marcus Fierro is the owner of the store, near East Clinton and North Fowler avenues.

He said the theft was caught on his security camera at about 2:45 p.m. The video shows the suspect casually stuffing the chainsaw blade in his pants and then covering the engine assembly with his jacket.

Fierro believes the thief had an accomplice who had been in the store last week, “scoping out” the area.

“Someone out there knows something, whether it be your neighbor, call the police. Be apart of the solution, as opposed to being a part of the problem,” Fierro said.

Fierro put the video of the theft on social media sites and has now received calls from national news outlets.

He says someone out there knows something and he hopes they call Fresno Police.
