Eighty-two-year-old man accused of murdering his wife in Fresno County

An 82-year-old man is accused of killing his 77-year-old wife Thursday afternoon, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

Deputies responded to a home in the 6700 block of North Del Rey Avenue in Clovis for a report of a possible suicide, says Tony Botti, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Maradee Wright was found dead inside the home from a gunshot wound. Evidence found at the scene led detectives to believe it was not a suicide.

Crime scene investigators responded and spoke with Wright’s husband, Kenneth Wright. “During
the conversation, detectives learned that Kenneth Wright was actually responsible for shooting and killing his wife,” Botti says.

Wright was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of murder and his bail is set at $1 million.

Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to contact sheriff’s office det. Juan Galindo at 559-600-8215 Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867 or www.valleycrimestoppers.org.
