Details emerge from Parlier ‘suspicious death’ case

Crime

PARLIER, California – Details about what started as a “suspicious death” call Wednesday night are being released by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office a day later.

Lt. Jose Salinas says the victim in the shooting is Sandra Portillo de Sanchez, 45, of Sanger.

It all started around 7 p.m. in the 14000 block of Manning Avenue when witnesses reported a domestic disturbance. A few moments later, callers reported shots were fired.

Deputies arrived and detained several people from inside the home, where Portillo de Sanchez was found deceased inside a bedroom, Salinas says.

Detectives say two females began to argue at the home when it escalated to a man joining the argument. A shot was fired by an unknown suspect, killing Portillo de Sanchez.

No arrests have been made, as detectives continue to work the case and interview potential suspects.

Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to contact Det. Carl Chalmers at 559-600-8207 or Det. Juan Galindo at 559-600-8215 or Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
