51-year-old man sought after in connection to shooting a Merced County deputy

MERCED COUNTY, California (KSEE/KGPE) – An investigation into a deputy-involved shooting near Dos Palos is underway Wednesday afternoon where a deputy was struck.

The Merced County deputy was shot in the chest just before 3:30 p.m. near Highway 33 and Eucalyptus Road when responding to a domestic disturbance. He’s expected to be OK.

A 51-year-old man is sought after as the suspect who shot the deputy. He is Guadalupe Lopez-Herrera form Dos Palos.

He was last seen driving a white 2013 GMC Sierra crew cab with California license plate No. 25599H1.
