TULARE COUNTY, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A Tulare County man was arrested Monday for child molestation, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called to a home in Richgrove, in southern Tulare County near Delano, after they were told that Jose Alvarado, 66, had molested a child under the age of 14 earlier that day, spokeswoman Ashley Schwarm said.

The sheriff’s office’s special victims unit took over the investigation and arrested Alvarado. He was booked at the Porterville Detention Facility for lew and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.

Schwarm said the connection between the victim and suspect is not being released.
