FRESNO, California – A stolen vehicle pursuit out of Clovis reached Fresno Thursday night, according to the Clovis Police Department.

The chase happened around 9 p.m. in Clovis at Willow and Herndon avenues and ended in a crash at Herndon and Cedar avenues in Fresno.

Lt. Bill Dooley with the Fresno Police Department says four people were inside the reported stolen car when the driver ran a red light, crashed into an innocent driver’s car. That person was not injured.

The stolen vehicle then crashed into a tree. One person fled, three people stayed inside, Dooley says, and they were detained and taken to the hospital.

Reports came in that one of the suspects was inside John’s Incredible Pizza. Police say security footage shows that a suspect was inside and that’s when the building was evacuated.

Ceiling tiles were moved around, leading officers to believe the suspect was attempting to get into the interior of the building.
