Crime

A 69-year-old Clovis man was arrested Feb. 8 on suspicion of several counts of child molestation charges, according to the Clovis Police Department.

An investigation into Philip Morris began in June 2017 when a victim’s family contacted the police department to make a report.

Detectives learned several acts of molestation occurred within the City of Clovis among three victims.

It was determined that the victims were known to Morris, and detectives say their ages ranged from five to 12 when they were victimized.

Morris was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of the following charges:

  • Lewd and lascivious acts with a minor age 14 or 15 (2 counts)
  • Lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 (6 counts)
  • Penetration with a foreign object (2 counts)

He remains in custody at the Fresno County Jail with a bail of $485,000.
