CHP helicopter lands to assist in stolen vehicle suspect arrest after he flees

A stolen vehicle suspect was caught on helicopter video footage fleeing from officers.

Around 11 a.m. on March 25, Sacramento Police officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on a local highway.

After fleeing on several freeways, county roads, and city streets, the suspect drove the wrong way on Highway 505 and fled on foot. California Highway Patrol Helicopter H-30, CHP Airplane Air-31 and CHP officers were able to follow the suspect.

The suspect fled into an industrial complex in the City of Vacaville. Two officers entered the complex as Vacaville Police officers assisted. Prior to entering the complex the suspect attempted to enter a parked vehicle.

The suspect attempted to hide under, between, and in several parked tractor trailers, but CHP aircraft was able to keep an eye on him. When officers approached the suspect he reportedly did not comply and fled on foot.

Because of the struggle, the CHP Helicopter H-30 landed to assist, and two CHP flight officers and paramedics assisted in taking the suspect into custody.

Neither the suspect nor the CHP Officers were injured.

The Sacramento Police Department will be the investigating agency.
