Chowchilla PD investigating near deadly shooting. It may be gang-related

A shooting victim is fighting for their life after being found inside a car, crashed into a fence in Chowchilla Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 4:30 p.m., Chowchilla Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of Alameda Avenue for reports of gunfire and someone shot inside a car.

Officers found the car wrecked into a home’s fencing, with the driver suffering from several gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and took the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation showed that the driver of the car had been followed and shot several times by an occupant of another car. Several shell casings were found in the roadway where the incident occurred.

Police believe the is shooting is gang-related
