A man was sent to the hospital Friday night after several young men allegedly attacked him outside of his neighborhood, Fresno Police say.

Just before 8 p.m., a woman heard a disturbance outside of her home in the 4600 block of East Eugenia Avenue, and when she checked outside, she saw at least four men attacking a 60-year-old man, according to Fresno Police Lt. Bill Dooley.

The woman called 911, and when officers arrived, they found the man suffering from face and head injuries across the street. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, Dooley says.

There were no signs of the man being a victim of an attempted robbery, he adds.

The suspects are described as between the ages of 15 and 20-years-old. There is not a clothing description.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department at 559-621-7000.

It is unclear if the attack was gang-related.
