Convenience store clerk grazed by bullet during robbery, police say

Fresno police are investigating a shooting at the Pic N Go convenience store in southeast Fresno. Police said they responded to an armed robbery at 508 N Chestnut near Belmont at 9:42 p.m.

Police say three suspects walked into the convenience store armed with handguns and fired two rounds.

Police said one clerk was grazed by a bullet in the ear. Fresno police say another suspect fired a shot at the second clerk, who was in the back of the store, they say luckily that shot only hit a glass cooler.

The clerk who was hit was taken to the hospital.

“They walked in demanded money there was an argument and a language barrier one of the suspects fired the first shot striking the first clerk then the second clerk heard the shot and they fired a second shot at him,” said Lt. Jerardo Chamalbide.

An unknown amount of cash was taken.

Police are describing the suspects as Hispanic males, they were wearing white hoodies and covering their faces with bandanas. Police say they ran northbound on Chestnut.
