Clerk who shot, killed man for stealing beer will face murder charge

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)  A Las Vegas convenience store clerk who allegedly shot and killed a man who was attempting to steal cases of beer will face a murder charge.

The clerk has been identified as 26-year-old Suse Antunez-Garcia.

The deadly shooting happened Friday morning at a Sinclair gas station on North Las Vegas Boulevard near Washington Avenue.

Police said a man and woman entered the convenience store, stole three cases of beer, and then ran to a waiting car in the parking lot.

A male store clerk got into a brief struggle with the male suspect as he was attempting to get in the car.

Antunez-Garcia armed with a gun ran into the parking lot and shot at the car hitting the male suspect in the leg and lower back.

The three suspects, including the man who was shot, fled in the car.

The injured man was dropped off at University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Antunez-Garcia was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
