City of Clovis Announces Location of New Temporary Dog Park

CLOVIS, Calif. -- The City of Clovis announced at their council meeting on Monday the location of the new temporary dog park.

The temporary park will be the Sierra Bicentennial Park on Sunnyside.

The city said it will be similar to a regular dog park. It will have a place for large and small dogs to play.

Josie McGuire was a big part of making the park a reality. She gathered thousands of signatures to show support for it.

"Clovis says they are family friendly an most families have dogs and we want some place we can take them to socialize and play with dogs," said Josie Mcguire, resident.

The temporary park will cost $50,000. They will break ground in September or October.

At the meeting they also approved moving forward with the dog parks master plan for the permanent master plan.
