Governor Jerry Brown has issued an executive order Monday that permanently prohibit acts such as hosing off sidewalks and driveways.
According to a statement released by the Governor’s Office, residents across the state have been banned from hosing off sidewalks and driveways, in addition to washing automobiles with hoses not equipped with a shut-off nozzle, and watering lawns in a manner that causes runoff, since emergency water conservation efforts began in July of 2014.
This executive order, according to the statement, will make the temporary prohibition permanent.
According to the statement, the executive order will also require month reports on water use, conservation, and enforcement by urban water suppliers, on a permanent basis.
