MAGALIA, Calif. (AP) — The Latest on wildfires in California (all times local):

The Butte County Sheriff announced several bodies were found within the last 24 hours, in a news conference Thursday night.

Sheriff Kory Honea says seven bodies were found among the rubble of the Camp Fire’s destructive path, bringing the total number of fatalities so far to 63 in the deadliest wildfire in state history.

The announcement came Thursday as authorities continued to search the devastated town of Paradise for human remains.

More than 5,000 fire personnel were battling the blaze that started a week ago and has displaced 52,000 people.

631 people are unaccounted for, the sheriff says, adding that it’s a 501 person increase.
