As the result of an exclusive CBS47 investigation, members of the Raisin City Teachers Association are joining parents and community members calling for the resignation of Superintendent Juan Sandoval at a board meeting to be held Tuesday afternoon.

CBS47 Chief Investigative Reporter Erik Rosales broke the story, that has now gone national, last week.

During an exclusive interview Sandoval admitted that he authorized a custodian to wear a mask and carry a fake gun while banging on doors and windows for a school shooting drill.

Neither the teachers or the students knew what was happening. During an interview Sandoval defended his actions saying ” “No, I don’t think it was wrong. It was a drill not training. Usually these drills becomes these drills become routine to students and we wanted to make sure this was realistic.”

Sandoval says after the drill the students watched a video provided to them by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, and discussed what to do in an active shooter came on campus.

The school board meeting starts at 4pm, and CBS47 will be there to bring you all the latest developments.
