(KSBY) – An investigation is underway at Oceano Dunes at Pismo Beach where a woman died in an off-road vehicle crash.

The initial call came in at 7:45 p.m. Friday, just south of the Vent Pipe area.

Investigators say five recreational off-road vehicles were following each other and went off a 25 to 30-foot dune.

California State Parks says the first vehicle went off a dune at 60 miles and hour, crashed and completely rolled over.

The four vehicles behind it also crashed but not with each other. State park rangers performed CPR on an unresponsive woman who was in the first vehicle.

They were able to get her pulse back then transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

The name of the woman has not yet been released. Two other people in the same vehicle received minor injuries.
