A young child’s body was found dumped along a hiking trail in Southern California Tuesday morning.
Los Angeles County workers who were gardening in the area discovered the victim’s body about 10 a.m. south of Hacienda Boulevard and Glenmark Drive, officials say.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the body was left at the location for over 24 hours.
The child is described as being African American and possibly 7 to 10 years old.
It is unclear if the victim’s body showed any signs of trauma. A homicide investigation is now underway.
