2 critically injured in shooting at packed Modesto bar

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) — Police say a man and a woman were critically injured during a shooting over the weekend at a packed Modesto bar.

The Modesto Bee reports a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were shot Sunday at the Tilted Turtle Bar and Grill.

Modesto Police say a third person had lesser injuries and went by private vehicle to a hospital.

Officials say the shooting happened during a scheduled event at the bar when there was a “packed house.”

According to a flier, there was a “420 Music Festival” scheduled at the bar. Purported video from the scene shows a crowd of at least 100 people gathered at the establishment listening to a rapper when five shots were fired.

A witness says the shooter went into the bar opened fire and left.
