Busy Night For County Election Workers

Throughout Tuesday, the Fresno County Elections Office had been busy working on the vote count, for the Assembly District 31 Special Election.

Workers have reportedly been working on the count, since 5 A.M., and elections chief Brandi Orth said the counting process was going smoothly.

“We have several hundred people that help us on Election Night, not only collecting voting equipment but process materials here,” said Orth. “We have big trucks coming in with the rest of the election materials on our back dock in a few hours. So everything is about collecting our materials.”

Provision ballots that were issued at the polls will reportedly be counted, in the next few days. Orth said most of the “Vote by Mail” ballots that were returned to the polls Tuesday, will be counted Wednesday morning.
