Burglars set market on fire

An early morning store fire appears to have been caused by burglars.
North central fire fighters tell us a stolen pickup caught fire in front of Hansen’s Market at McKinley and Bryan.

They tell us the truck was chained to the door and got stuck on a barrier, catching fire. The flames spread to the store. Firefighters were able to keep the flames outside the building, but there is smoke damage inside the store.

The fire marshall has been talking with the store’s owner. We’re told thieves did manage to get away with cigarrettes and lottery tickets. The store was the target of burglars not too long ago. It’s not known if the two are connected.
