A Goshen man is behind bars after the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says he killed a 4-month old rabbit belonging to his 2-year old daughter.

Investigators say Dorian Mendoza was in a verbal argument as he was moving out of a home in the Goshen area that he shared with an unidentified woman and his daughter around 10:30 Thursday morning.

Deputies say that during the argument Mendoza picked up the rabbit, named ” Bunny” and slammed the pet into a wall, killing it.  Mendoza had reportedly bought the rabbit for his daughter a few weeks ago.

Deputies arrested Mendoza for animal cruelty and an unrelated active arrest warrant for possessing a sawed-off shotgun. Mendoza was later booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.
